This isn't difficult by any means, but this navigation issue is a little unclear and could be solved with some sort of a simple button labeled with "back" or the notebook's actual name. There are back/forward buttons for sifting through notes on an individual basis, but the only way to get back is to click on the particular notebook you're browsing. One drawback we've found so far with Evernote's new web interface, however, is that there isn't a clear way to get back to a notebook's list of items.

You can now select multiple items and drag them to a new notebook or delete them, and the tighter appearance feels far more refined and allows for easier access to more information. Keeping in line with the company's vision for Evernote as being "your digital brain," the web app has definitely grown in usability by leaps and bounds. "The goal is that you don't have to think as much" for regular operations like dragging and dropping items between notebooks (also known as "folders" or "groups" in similar apps).

But the new UI isn't just a "tighter appearance," Libin told Ars Technica. While Evernote issued minor updates to its Mac and Windows clients for today's public introduction, the company's web app received much more attention.
